All about Canned Coffee (Actionpoints Bonus)
Canned coffee is fundamentally not new. You have always been able to find canned coffee in containers or simply loose in the world in Appalachia and the way it works has always been the same. What is new is that we can now make canned coffee in our CAMPs using the new coffee machine and can take out a canned coffee every 10 minutes.
Coffee Machine for Canned Coffee

- One coffee machine can be built per CAMP or workshop
- The coffee machine cannot be built in a shelter
- Is a Atomic Shop item, so it cannot be placed in other people's camps and there is no plan.
- Located in the CAMP build menu under “Resources”.
- Produces a can of coffee every 10 minutes and 12 seconds
- Max. 4 cans of coffee are stored in the coffee machine (if there are 4 cans of coffee in the machine, production will stop until you pick up the canned coffee)
Canned coffee effect
The effect of canned coffee is often misinterpreted and is not clearly described and recognizable in the game. In fact, canned coffee does not regenerate AP (action points), AP regeneration is not affected. Instead, AP is generated for a short period of time. This is a difference and has various advantages and disadvantages.
- 1 can of coffee generates +12 AP per second for a period of 25 seconds
- Stacks arbitrarily
- Generates a total of 300 Action Points (AP) over 25 seconds
- Does not spoil (shelf life indefinitely)
This means that if you drink 3x canned coffee, +36 AP per second will be generated, if you drink 10x canned coffee +120 AP per second, etc.
This generation of AP also works while you are consuming AP. Normal AP regeneration only works if you don't use up the AP. If you e.g. If you shoot or sprint at several or large opponents in VATS or use the jetpack, you use all your AP and only when you stop shooting will the AP be regenerated again. This regeneration can be buffed, for example: you can calculate and optimize with our AP calculator.
The effect is available for 25 seconds even with heavy use of action points and e.g. Suitable for speed runs (with weapons that consume a lot of AP) or for bridging certain distances with the jetpack. Not as a permanent effect.
If you e.g. If you don't have armor with AP acceleration, or in certain situations you want to buff your AP over a period of time, canned coffee is not the right thing, but just a supplement for even more buff. For optimizing acceleration, e.g. is suitable: very good the herbivore mutation with company tea. This combination reduces the AP acceleration (0-100%) from a maximum of 16.6 seconds to 3.2 seconds. Farming Canned Coffee
Of course, in addition to using the coffee machine, it is still possible to farm the canned coffee yourself.
The best way to do this is as follows:
- Equip the "Can Do!" perk under Luck in your skillset (preferably set to 3 to maximize the chance of getting more loot)
- Travel to Whitespring / Watoga and other places where there are many containers (e.g. trash cans).
- Now run through all the containers and collect everything you can use. On the left side you will see the symbol for “Can Do!” if you have received more loot in the containers via the perk. You can only loot each container once per server. So if you have expired all containers, change the server and you can continue.
Workshop farming with coffee machine
We have another tip for you via Kat Duchess Flame, if you want to farm some canned coffee more intensive.
A private server is ideal for this if you want to invest a few hours of time.
- Claim a workshop
- Place a coffee machine there
- Wait 10 minutes and pick up your canned coffee
- Repeat steps 1-3 as often as you like.
At the same time, you can of course also do the container farming described above. Thats a lot of canned coffee.
Tip: This method can be easily combined with the gift farming method in the workshops at Christmas (during the Holiday Scorched Event).
