Holiday Scorched 2024: No more spawns but still gifts
Important changes to the Holiday Scorched Event
From December 19th, 2024 at 12pm ET, no more Holiday Scorched will spawn!
But:
- The event will continue until the planned end
- Santatron will continue to deliver gifts
- Wrapping paper can still be bought at the train stations
- Once a day you will receive one of the following stacks of wrapping paper in the Atom Shop.
- 20 low-quality wrapping paper
- 15 medium-quality wrapping paper
- 10 high-quality wrapping paper
- Note on wrapping paper: If you pick up the wrapping paper at exactly the same time every day, this can lead to an error. In this case, just try again shortly afterwards.
- This way you can at least continue to make gifts.
You can continue to take over the workshops and place your Santatrons. In your camp you can continue to collect your gifts from the Santatron. And make gifts every day without investing caps.
Explanation
After the event started, there was a problem with the gifts. Only a few holiday scorched had gifts with them. As a result, Bethesda increased the spawns. This meant that we were able to collect significantly more legendary items. Unfortunately, we still didn't receive any more gifts.
Ultimately, Bethesda decided yesterday to turn off the spawns and go this route. Since there seemed to be no other short-term solution, I think this solution is fine. The drop rate for the new rewards is good, so anyone who had the previous rewards should now receive new rewards under these circumstances.
Suspect: In our Discord, there was a suspicion that the gift drops might no longer work properly because the burnt people now have significantly more junk with them. There may be a connection.
Official Announcement of the holiday scorched changes
Alright @Fallout 76 News, we wanted to give you a update on the status of the Holiday Scorched event. Yesterday, as a response to reports from players that they were not receiving gifts, we increased the spawn rate of the Festive Scorched so that players would receive more Legendary loot. Unfortunately, this increase of spawn rate had adverse effects on other parts of the game. Earlier today we reverted the spawn rate of the Festive Scorched back to normal. Due to the Holiday Scorched event not providing enough gifts, we have decided to deactivate the event starting tomorrow, December 19 @ 12 PM ET. Please use this time today to wrap up any remaining challenges you may have. That being said, the holiday festivities will not be STOPPED! Santatron will remain available, and gift wrap will still be purchasable at train station vendors. Also, starting tomorrow at 12 PM ET, you will be able to claim a stack of Gift Wrap once per day from the Atomic Shop (until January 2). You will receive one of the following stacks per day:
- 20 Low Quality Gift Wrap
- 15 Medium Quality Gift Wrap
- 10 High Quality Gift Wrap
(A note for the super punctual: Claiming the gift at the same time each day may result in you getting an error message. If that appears, please wait to claim the gift again after an hour has passed.) Don’t let the holiday spirit end just because the Festive Scorched aren’t around. Claim these gift wraps and start crafting those presents. While our greatest present is you, your greatest present could be one that you crafted yourself (or given to you by a kind Level 1243 dweller dressed in a fancy suit)!
