Raid Guardian EN06 Solo: New Beginner Guide 2026
[Update 11th Mar 2026] Common problems list added
[Update 7th Mar 2026] Bloodied as alternative to Furious on Plasma Rifle
This article describes a build and method to defeat the EN-06 Guardian in the first stage of the raid solo. This method requires no legendary perks or high-end equipment, making it feasible even below level 100. However, you will need some plans, legendary mods, and should have completed the Settlers main quest up to the Chinese Stealth Armor.
The pro guide (10 sec) can be found here.

Requirements
- from Level 50-60 (if all required perks were selected)
- Chinese Stealth Armor
- Plasma Rifle with Flamer Mod and Short-Scope
- Assaultron Head
- Legendary Mods
- 1x Furious or 1x Bloodied
- 1x Rapid
- 1x Swift
- 1x Quad
- 1x Crippling
Perk Cards
Legendary Perks are not required. If you "Follow Through" already, you can use it to improve the Build.
Strength [8]
| Easy Target 3* | 75% more damage against crippled enemies |
| Bulletstorm 3* | Gain 9% damage per 30 ammo spent. 10 max stacks. Thats a 90% Bonus after 300 shots. 180% when 20 stacks are reached. |
| Lock and Load 2* | You keep half of your Bullet Storm stacks when you reload. +1% reload speed per stack. This helps to reach the stack limit of 20 faster. |
Perception [15]
| Number Cruncher 3* | 2% increased damage per AP cost. Thats +28% on the Plasma Rifle, +60% on the Assaultron Head. |
| Tormentor 2* |
You deal 20% more damage per crippled limb your target has. Since the shield is crippled here, we get 20% bonus. |
| Panzerkiller 2* | Your ranged weapons ignore 40% armor. |
| Smart Shot 3* |
Deal +25% weak spot damage while aiming a scoped weapon. |
| Center Masochist 3* |
+75% ranged damage when attacking the torso. |
| Deal Sealer 2* |
+10% damage for each impairment your target has. Here it's +10% by crippling of the shield. |
Endurance [4]
| Hardy 3* | 45% less damage from explosions. Not absolutely required since we're not taking damage here. |
| Starched Genes 1* | Grants to keep our mutations even when using Rad Away. |
Charisma [2]
| Tenderizer 2* | Each attack makes your target take increased damage. Each hit increases the damage to an enemy by 0.1%, reaching a maximum of 100% after 1000 hits. |
Intelligence [7]
Agility [15]
Hight agility is important, because it improves the sneak ability a lot and this is the base for this build.
| Modern Renegade 3* | Small guns gain +30% hip fire accuracy and +75% limb damage |
| Covert Operative 3* | Your ranged attacks do an additional +50% sneak attack damage. |
| Gunslinger 1* (if furious) or Gunslinger 3* (if bloodied) | Your ranged weapons do +6/12% weak spot damage. This affects damage shown in yellow numbers (here it's the torso). |
| Guerilla Master 3* (if furious, otherwise don't use it) | Gain +5% damage to close enemies per Onslaught stack with ranged weapons, +5 max stacks. |
| Enforcer 3* | Your small guns (rifles, pistols, shotguns) gain a 15% stagger chance and +75% limb damage. |
| Sneak 2* (if furious, or 3* if bloodied) | You are 50/75% harder to detect while sneaking |
Luck [5]
| Psychopath 2* |
Hits outside of V.A.T.S. refill your Critical Meter at 10% contribution. |
| Better Criticals 3* | V.A.T.S. criticals now do +100% damage |

Equipment
We need 3 items for this build and method.
Chinese Stealth Armor
This suit maximizes our stealth ability, allowing us to remain undetected right in front of the Guardian EN-06. You can obtain the Chinese Stealth Armor during the Settlers' main quest, from Samuel in Foundation for 4000 gold, or from Minerva for 3000 gold (List 4).
Assaultron Head
We only use the Assaultron head at the beginning to cripple the shield with a single shot. For this, we need the following legendary mods:
- Quad
- +50% Limb Damage
- (optional) +3 Intelligence
The third star is optional, as it increases damage, but the first two are sufficient for this purpose.
Plasma Rifle
For torso damage, we use a regular plasma rifle, not an Enclave plasma rifle, as it is harder to obtain. The plan for the plasma rifle can be purchased from the Brotherhood vendor in the Whitespring Mall, among other places. Mods can be learned by scrapping the weapon. So, buy the plan and craft low-level plasma pistols or rifles (since they cost less material; the blueprint can be used for both). Then scrap them immediately to have a chance to learn the mods. You will need the following mods:
- Flamer Barrel
- Short Scope
- Prime Capacitor
(You don't get this by scrapping, but as a reward from the Scorchbeast Queen / Event: Scorched Earth, or from normal Scorchbeasts.)
Alternatively: Use legendary perk "follow through", if you have the legendary perk, but not the capacitor. - Stock can be Standard
Furthermore we need these legendary Mods:
- Furious
- Rapid
- Swift
Method
Make sure you've set up your weapons on the quick-wheel for easier access. Also, ensure your weapons are repaired. Your HP needs to be 5% or lower e.g. by consuming toxic goo.
- The first time, it's best to charge your critical hit bar by landing a few hits on enemies outsite of the raid and outside of VATS. By the second round, the bar will already be fully charged.
- First, charge the Assaultron head to 20 by repeatedly reloading.
- Start the stage by pressing the button.
- Sit on a lamp at the bottom of the ramp, in front of the floor, so you're not touching the electrically charged ground, and crouch.
- Wait until the EN-06 is fully extended.
- Use the shield with the Assaultron head in VATS and hold down the critical hit button (see the bottom of the VATS screen).
- Fire, and the shield will be crippled with a single shot.
- Now switch to the plasma rifle, aim with the scope at the torso, and fire.
- After about 1 minute, you'll have defeated the EN-06 and will receive the rewards.
To replay the first part of the raid, go to Quests in your Pip-Boy and select "reject" for the raid (the button is described below). You will then be removed from the instance and can restart.
And here you can see a short clip from the video showing the full process of the method:
Most common problems & mistakes
Based on your feedback, here's a short list of mistakes to avoid to ensure you can take down the Guardian's shield with a single shot:
- The Assaultron head doesn't have the "Quadruple" and "Cripple" mods.
- Your VATS critical hit bar isn't fully charged. Make sure you fully charge the bar by hitting other enemies in VATS outside the raid.
- The Grounded mutation must not be active, as it reduces energy damage too much.
- The Eagle Eyes mutation, on the other hand, must be active to receive the corresponding critical hit bonus.
- It won't work if you're not "hidden".

Comments:
All things grinded and bought for nothing?
Please see this tutorial through again, I doubt if it works nowadays
Also, digested goo cannot be eaten, instead use toxic goo to decrease Hp to 5%. Toxic goo is easy and widely available in the green bath in the decontamination hall in West Tek 29.03.2026 at 12:34:26
@Harribo: That sound like you have less than 5 perception, you can only choose a body part when your PER is higher than 5. The build comes with 15 PER, that`s no problem. It should mean toxic goo, i'll check the translation. Sorry for that.
The build still works fine, on human and on ghouls I test this by myself regularly . 29.03.2026 at 13:42:25
Maybe people need level 300+ to increase assaultron damage.
Thanks for your answers 29.03.2026 at 21:33:07

I even use intelligence extra as a legendary perk, but still not enough damage.
You dont know, I will try figure it out. Cheers 29.03.2026 at 22:43:36
Many people don't deal enough damage because they haven't eaten any food. 30.03.2026 at 19:29:24
I know I think now what makes the difference! ... The place I was standing on the ramp. You must stand more or less exactly on the same place on the lamp on the ramp as in the video, not lower to the floor. If you are standing too low, not all the critical damage goes to the shield, only a 80%.!
And after you have taken down the shield, you must VERY Quick turn to the plasma rifle and press press press shoot as many times you can.
If I ever do this again, I use maybe the enclave plasma rifle which I already have.
Thanks for the tutorial. It takes multiple times to learn I think. 30.03.2026 at 20:56:30
Aggressotron-Kopf nur 298 Schaden bringt.
Eigentlich haben alle Waffen bei mir weniger Schaden als bei anderen Spielern 05.04.2026 at 11:16:33
