Patch 70, releasing on Septemer 15, 2026, brings more than just the slasher season. It also introduces new fish, specifically seasonal fish as well as a new limited-time local legend. In addition, the update includes new recipes and new challenges.

Seasonal Fish

The seasonal fish are available only during specific seasons and in specific regions. However, they are all "uncommon" fish, making them relatively easy to catch. If the new Fall Season starts on 15th September or later will be updated here when it's confirmed.

Of course, you need to have completed the fishing quest at Fishermans Rest, given by the Captain.

New Seasonal Fish – Available June 23

If you need a break from clearing out Infestations, you can try your luck at catching some of our new seasonal fish. Available on the first Tuesday after the summer solstice, these new fish will be joined by their Fall, Winter, and Spring siblings as the year goes on. This fishing update will also come with new challenges and rewards for you to obtain.

These new fish can’t be turned into Fish Bits like the other Appalachian fish because you’ll be using them to craft new seasonal food recipes. We’re not going to cover what the recipes are, what advantages they provide, or the locations for these new fish here. Our hope is that you’ll be able to discover all that on your own.

If you do want a little hint on where to start looking, head over to Fisherman’s Rest and find a note from Captain Raymond.

Best here displayed drop chance applies to uncommon fish by using superb bait. Also with normal and improved bait you will catch this fish often.

New seasonal local Legend

The summer's Local Legend was also only available starting June 23, 2026, as that was when the summer season in Fallout 76 began. The fall season for the new Local Legend will likely begin with the update on September 15, 2026, though this has not yet been confirmed.

Drop Chance applies to superb bait during rain or clear sky/clouds.

Seasonal fishing weekends

As with several other events, such as those featuring background options for double drop rates, there is once again a hidden feature here.

LTT_WeekendSeasonalFish_Toggle: Can be activated by Bethesda.

When this option is active, in addition to the standard drop rate, there is an additional 30% chance of obtaining seasonal fish. This is particularly useful, for example, for the recipes listed below.

When this option is enabled, this additional drop chance applies to different regions depending on the current season.

As soon as we know exactly when this option becomes active, this article will be updated, and posts will be shared on the Nuka Knights social media channels.

(New) Recipes: Fall

River Salad

Will be learned by cooking "Fall Sour Eelgrass" from a Fall Fish (Fester Koi).

Effects:

• +100 Poison Resistance for 1h
  • Herbivore: +200 Poison Resistance (+250 with Perk "Strange in Numbers")

Ingredients:

• 1x Tato
• 2x Carrot
• 1x Pepper
• 1x Fall Sour Eelgrass

Spicy Eelgrass Soup

Recipe can be learned by completing the Challenge "Catch Fall Seasonal Local Legend: ""Sludge Eye"".

Effects:

• +60 Max HP for 1h
  • Herbivore: +120 Max HP (+150 with Perk "Strange in Numbers")

Ingredients:

• 1x Boiled Water
• 1x Spices
• 1x Swamp Tofu
• 1x Prickeye
• 5x Fall Sour Eelgrass

Jellied Fish

Can be learned by completing the challenge `Catch Summer Seasonal Local Legend: "Glass Ghost"`.

Effects:

• HP: 0.80 HP/s for 25 Sec. 
  • Carnivore: 1.6HP/s
• INT: +4 for 1h
  • Carnivore: +8 INT (+10 INT with "Strange in Numbers")

Ingredients:

• 3x Wood
• 1x Boiled Water
• 2x Deathclaw Egg
• 2x Carrot
• 5x Summer Filet

Wasteland Fish Sandwich

Will be learned, when you catch a seasonal fish.

Effects:

• HP: 0.80 HP/s for 25 Sec. 
  • Carnivore: 1.6HP/s
• Movement Speed: +20% for 1h
  • Carnivore: +40% (+50% with "Strange in Numbers")

Ingredients:

• 1x Wood
• 1x Cooking Oil
• 1x Razorgrain Flour
• 1x Summer Filet
