These events reward you Legendary Cores for Legendary Crafting

To create legendary weapons and armor, you need legendary cores and legendary modules (with a few exceptions). To "roll" a 3* weapon you need e.g. 5 Legendary Cores and 4 Legendary Modules. You can get legendary modules in exchange for legendary scrip from the Purveyor in Rusty Pick and during expeditions. You can read here how and where you can get legendary cores.
Where do you get legendary Cores?
Legendary Cores can be obtained as rewards from events and daily operations:
- "Encryptid", "A Colossal Problem": 8 cores
- "Scorched Earth" (Queen): 5 cores
- "Project Paradise" & "Free Range" give 4-8 cores (8 if all 3 animals are still alive)
- Seasonal Mothman Equinox gives up to 4 cores
- Daily Operations have a chance of 1-3 Cores (Elder Rank)
- No cores from gifts or chests
- “Meat Week” and “Fasnacht”: 1-2 cores for “good” results, 1-3 cores for “best” results
- All other public events also have a chance of 1-3 legendary cores
- Legendary Cores cannot be traded or discarded.
Tip: Encryptid Farming
If you want to farm legendary cores very efficiently and quickly and have a small team of players, you can farm the “Encryptid” event very well.
To start Encryptid, you need an Assaultron Recall Keycard, which you can buy from all vendors at train stations. After purchase, it must be crafted at a tinker workbench using Flux. You can only buy the key cards once you have completed the “Van Lowe” questline. Read the posters at the train stations showing the sheepsquatch and the inscription “sheepsquatch ate my brother”.
You start the event at the “Pylon Ambush Site” in Ash Heap (southeast of Rusty Pick). The event has a cooldown of around 3 hours and is therefore not always guaranteed to start on public servers.
To farm Encryptid with Fallout 1st (private server), follow these steps:
- Form a team with players who have a few of Aggressotron Recall Key Cards ready
- One of you starts a private server (Fallout 1st)
(Make sure that the others can join you. So either form a team in the main menu or set the server to "Friends") - Gather at the pylon ambush site
- Start the event
- Receive 8 Legendary Cores upon completion
- Now you leave this server
- Another player on your team starts a new private server
- You all join together again and start the event again
- This way you can start a series of private servers (2 players with Fallout 1st are enough) and start the event immediately every time.
If you're quick, you can farm up to 100 legendary cores per hour.
Legendary Core Farming
If you don't have a team ready at the moment and want to farm legendary cores at the same time, that's also possible. Pay attention to which events you do and trigger yourself.
- Only plays public events
- Trigger Encryptid in public as often as you can
- Find servers without nuke zones and launch nuclear bombs on the Queen (5 legendary cores) or Earle (8 legendary cores) between public events (on the hour, 20 after and 40 after).
- For example, look for via Discord Groups that do Queen Runs and join there to participate, like we do: Nuka Knights Discord
- The more endgame events you play, the faster you will get legendary cores
Conclusion
Without legendary cores, legendary crafting becomes difficult. This becomes a problem on characters you don't play often. Using the methods mentioned, you can also systematically supply these characters with legendary cores. Unless the storage chars are overloaded, then of course it will be difficult. In this case you can self-kill the char (by grenades, rads etc) and respawn it on your teammates location on the event. Of course, you can also place such characters in the event area at Kryptisch and receive the cores that way.
