Tip: Guaranteed forced Queen (and Scorchbeasts) Landing
This tip is of course particularly important for Queen events, i.e. “scorched earth”. But of course it also makes sense to know this tip for forays into Appalachia.
Also at Mutated Events this tip is important, e.g. if "Line in the Sand" has the mutation "resilient" with Scorchbeasts. If they are not shot down to 1 hp, they can be forced to land too.
The goal is to “cripple” at least one wing.
Basic Perk
To do this, you always need the perk card “concentrated fire” (1 is enough) in Perception, as well as a ranged weapon. Rifles are best because of their range and precision.
Commando/Rifleman Builds:
The perk card "Tormentor" (preferably at 3) under luck ensures that you can "cripple" body parts after a few hits. It is also possible to use a rifle with the 2nd legendary perk “50% more limb damage”. This also leads to crippling. Of course, both together are even faster, but the tormentor alone is enough.
Shotguns/Heavy Gunner Builds:
With the perk card "One Gun Army" under luck, you can use heavy weapons to cripple a body part with a relatively low chance. With shotguns, the best option is the Perk card "Enforcer" under Agility.
Maybe you already know what the best option is here: pepper shaker
- Is a shotgun and at the same time a heavy weapon
- Is very suitable as an alternative weapon for heavy gunner builds
- Combined with "force" a body part will cripple very quickly
- Works even better if there is additional body part damage as a 2nd legendary perk on the pepper shaker.
For heavy gunners, for example: A plasma thrower is definitely a good option too. Due to the high precision and range, the tip will also work with this. However, only the "One Weapon Army" perk is used, which only has a small chance of crippling. A plasma thrower with body part damage would be a good choice here.
Pistol builds
With the "Modern Renegade" card it is also possible to cripple body parts with pistols.
Legendary Effect: Limb Damage
Also the 2nd legendary effect "+50% more limb damage" alone or in combination with the perk cards works very well to cripple the wings. With this effect you need much less hits than without.
Application
Once you have decided on the right variant and equipped the perks, you can get started.
- Brandbeast or Queen flies towards you
- Enable VATS
- Aim at a wing with the right stick on the console controller or on the PC using the "A" or "D" keys in the VATS
- On each part of the body, i.e. the wing, there is a small bar indicating the condition. You now shoot until the bar there is empty, then the wing is crippled.
- If your VATS deactivates as a heavy gunner, keep trying to hit the wings. This also helps with your perks.
- Shortly afterwards, the Brandbeste or Queen lands.
