For the challenges, you'll occasionally need to find and kill a Wendigo. There are also some challenges where you have to take photos of Wendigos with your camera. It doesn't matter whether the Wendigo is dead or not. Only various Wendigo variants count towards the challenges, not the Wendigo Colossus or Earle Williams.
