The Holiday Scorched have legendary items, tools, ammunition and gifts with them. You can also craft the gifts with wrapping paper that you can get at the train stations. And you can also farm gifts again with the free Santa Collector (Atomic Shop).

New waterlogged Gifts while Fishing
In addition to gifts from the scorched and handcrafted gifts, there's a new category: Waterlogged Gifts. These are gifts you can obtain while fishing, but only if Bethesda chooses to allow so. These gifts aren't regular drops; instead, they're activated server-side as needed. We've already seen how this works with the glowing fasnacht masks from the aliens. This is another "surprise option."
When this option is active (currently every weekend in December 2025, from Friday at 12am ET to Monday at 12am ET), you have a 15% chance of getting a Waterloged Gift while fishing, regardless of the fishing location. There are three types of Waterlogged Gifts:

Double Holiday Scorched Gifts
And there's another server-side option: Double gifts from Holiday Scorched.
This option can also be activated by Bethesda at will. However, the Holiday Scorched event must also be active for it to work. So it's quite possible that we'll receive double gifts on some days this season. The gifts drop from the Holiday Scorched themselves, meaning they'll have two gifts instead of one.

TIPS
You can find the Holiday Scorched wherever Scorched spawn. Also at events! Events with a lot of spawn are e.g. "Collision Course" (Morgantown Airport) or "Line in the Sand". You will also find them at the Queen. However, they do not spawn in buildings, i.e. indoor spaces with a loading screen.
