Everyone wants to level up faster every once in a while, whether you're trying to level up a new char, or simply progress faster on the current scoreboard of the season. And, of course, when there's another Double XP weekend. Here at Nuka Knights we have compiled all the information for you and have continuously updated and improved it since the original post in early 2020 (in the FB group).
TLDR: The optimal combination for XP Buffs can be found in the section: "Best Max XP Buffs" below.
BASICALLY, YOU SHOULD KNOW AND NOTE A FEW THINGS TO BE EFFECTIVE:
-
Intelligence affects received XP (the higher, the better Per intelligence point +2,072% XP )
- So armor, with an intelligence boost makes sense. Preferably a complete Unyielding set.
- Berries Mentats (+ INT)
- Herbivores: Brain Bombs (+ INT), Brain Mushroom Soup (+ INT) or alternatively e.g. Drawn Tato Blossom Tea (+ INT)
- Carnivore: Grilled Scorchbeast Brain (+ INT)
- Power Armor: Modding a helmet with a database also increases intelligence
- Mutation: Egghead +6 INT
-
So you get more XP with Unyielding Armor than with Power Armor because you get more Intelligence.
-
Perk Loadouts : Skill yourself to INT 15 for double XP weekends , for example, in order to farm maximum XP + legendary intelligence to 5
-
Before leveling, lie down with your char until they get the status " Well Rested " (+5% XP for 2 hrs)
-
With some allies you get a longer "Rested Bonus" e.g. with Raider Point you get "Kind Soul" for 3 hours with +5% XP.
-
-
Cranberry Relish and Pie provide an XP Boost, but require a certain amount of effort to craft. If you're short on time, start leveling right away instead of cooking first (For Herbivore mutation)
-
Canned meat also provides an XP boost and does not need to be cooked (+5% XP for one hour). Can be obtained from Mama Dolces in the Feeding of the Hungry event. (5% without Mutation, 10% with carnivore mutation, 12,5% with Carnivore / Strange in Numbers /w mutated team)
-
Leader bobbleheads also give an XP boost (+5% for 1 hr or 2 hrs with "Curator" under luck)
-
On a team you can also equip or share the Inspiring card to 3 and get +15% XP if you are in a team.
-
You can also use the magazine "Live & Love #8" if you want to level up in a team. (+5% XP when on a team).
For herbivores , "Live and Love #3" is good (more effect from plant food) and for carnivores , "Backwoodsman #6" (more effect from cooked meat food). -
There is a mothman XP bonus . When you have completed the Enlightened Path event at the Lighthouse, a peaceful Mothman will appear. When you "Get Up Close" with this Mothman, you will gain the Mothman's Wisdom effect and gain +5% XP for 1 hour.
-
At the end of the seasonal Mothman Equinox event, you can also click on the Mothman at the end and receive a +15% XP bonus for the "Mothman's Wisdom" for 1 hour
-
" Squirrel Stew " (+10% XP; +25% with Carnivore mutation).
-
The new SCORE Lunchboxes contain an XP bonus "Very Well Rested" of +25% each to max of 100% when you have opened 4 pieces. If more than 4 are opened, the duration time is extended.
-
A public team with Goal: Events can bring you 100% more XP when completing events with 4 members
-
A public team with a goal: Hunt gives you more XP when killing legendary enemies
-
[ Recommendation ]: A public casual team with target Intelligence increases your XP with every kill , no matter which opponent.
-
(Season 9): The mechanical derby game machine gives you +2 INT for 30 minutes.
You can now get the plan for this in Crater from Mortimer in exchange for gold at the lowest reputation level.
See: Wastelanders plans listed by vendor and reputation - The Ally Leo Petrov activated 5% more XP for 1 hour, if you give him Nuka Cola Cranberry.
- The Ally Steven Scarberry also activates 5% more XP for 1 hour.
- Tip: If you have 2 Camp Slots, you can activate the bonus of Leo Petrov, switch your camp and get the bonus of steven scarberry too.
- Sacred Mothman Tome (Mothman Equinox Event) gets you 5% more XP for 1 hour (Wisdom of the Mothman) but doesn't stack with Steven Scarberrys Bonus nor with the Equinox Event Bonus (Don't overwrite the 15% event bonus!).

BEST PLACES TO LEVEL UP FAST:
-
All locations except instances have a respawn time of 10 minutes, after this time enemies will respawn if a new player joins the server and goes to that location. (If you rejoin the same server yourself, it works too.)
-
(Best XP Method) West Tek : Since West Tek is an instance, this is the best place to get a lot of XP quickly. The super mutants in there then have almost all level 100 and give up to 4000 XP depending on the combination of buffs in a double XP weekend. In addition, you don't even have to leave West Tek to have the enemies spawn again. You just take the FEV elevator down, wait there for 60 seconds and when you go back up, the enemies have spawned again.
Important: To make the enemies respawn, the misc quest "discover the secrets of west tek" must be completed. -
(Best XP Event) Event: Radiation rumble : Here you should shoot as many enemies as possible with an exploding weapon or a Tesla rifle, for example, in order to take a lot of XP with you. But don't forget to collect some ores and protect the NPCs. Otherwise the event will fail.
-
Fissure Site Locations : There you always have Scorchbeasts that give you a lot of XP and lots of Scorched ones that you can take with you on the side. Special feature of crack locations: only 10 minutes must have passed for a respawn, no new player has to come to the server. You can travel from one rift to another, and when you get to the last one and 10 minutes have passed, you'll have new enemies at the first rift again. You can do this as often as you like on a server.
-
Super mutant locations like Huntersville, Westtek, National Radio Station, General Steakhouse, etc.
-
Places like Grafton, Welch, Beckley or Whitespring are suitable for players with a lower level.
- Technical Data: Turning in Technical Data at Fort Atlas or Camp Venture is also a good way to farm XP during Double XP Weekend. The most worthwhile thing is to collect the technical data up to a double XP weekend and then hand it in.
But be careful: only have 1 copy in your inventory at a time, otherwise they will all be handed in at the same time. Always put the rest in the stash box. See Wiki for more info and rewards.
TEAM LEVELS:
-
Once all team members have hit the enemy, they will receive the XP.
-
It makes sense to designate a "finisher" and have the others equip weak weapons to "hit". Shotguns or pistols with an explode are suitable for this. (It's best to use everything even without matching perk cards to keep the damage low.)
-
It is also important that you stay relatively close together so that all team members can hit and loot the opponents.
